McCallum Comes Up Short Against Determined LBJ Team
The Knights traveled to Nelson Field last Friday night to do battle with the LBJ Jaguars, in a game that could determine the district championship. When the final whistle blew the Knights came up on the short end of the score 20 to 17.
McCallum found itself in what appeared to be a defensive
struggle with both teams’ defenses playing strong in the first half. LBJ was
able to go into the locker room at halftime with a 10 to 3 lead. The Knights
lone score was set up by Van Franks with a diving catch to bring the Knights to
the LBJ 5 yard line, but the Knights were not able to punch the ball over the
end line and had to settle for an A.J. Audain field goal. The Knights defense
was lead with good solid play from Jonathan Fisher, Hudson Standcliff, and
Jamal Stevens.
