The Pumpkin Church
The St. John's pumpkin patch has just the pumpkin you're looking for. On October 3rd, they unloaded 3,000 pumpkins for their annual pumpkin patch. Can't beat that selection. This is the 15th year the church has set up their pumpkin patch. It's been so successful other churches have started their own pumpkin patches. St John's expects another 1,500 pumpkins to arrive soon. The 1 and 1/2 truckloads of pumpkins come from New Mexico.
The
monies from the sale of the pumpkins and the autumn decorations
they sell in the back play
area of the church help raise
funds
for Saint John’s older adult and youth ministries, according to St. John's Youth Minister John Cravens. Sure you
can buy you're pumpkin at HEB but on a nice October day you'd be
missing the experience of walking among a few thousand pumpkins on hay covered ground in a yard displaying various autumn decorations. While I was there a couple of families came through taking photos of their children amid the pumpkins before making their selection. The Pumpkin Patch is
open Mon - Sat 10:00 to 8:30 and on Sunday 12:00 - 8:30.
