Frances Allen was elected as President Emeritus, with a lifetime membership on the MONAC Board of Director’s for her leadership in inspiring the Neighborhood Associations to band together for the common good in striving to protect the Neighborhoods from encroachment.
New officers were elected – Joyce Basciano (Brykerwoods) as
President, Art Avarkian (
Tonight’s meeting including reinforcing MONAC’s statement regarding the Loop 1 Improvement Study -
HOV/HOT managed lanes, cooperation with the neighborhoods, noise abatement
walls, commuter rail, at or below grade, and within the existing ROW. All this in the MoPAC corridor from
Ginger Goodin with TTI gave a presentation on “Concepts of Managed Lanes” –
http://managed-lanes.tamu.edu/. The end result of managed lanes would be to move more people through the corridor instead of vehicles.
