Neighborhood Watch

Dear Amy,Amys_052705_2
I am working on the Allandale Neighborhood Association website. What can you tell me about plans and timeline for the new Burnet location?

"After 6 months of fighting with the City, we received our permit about three weeks ago. We're shooting for a mid July opening for Amy's and August for Phil's Ice House, our cheeseburger place. We are very excited about the new playscape and are hoping to be a neighborhood landmark and gathering place for families and friends. Thanks for the help, Amy and Steve"

Curb Islands or Frankencurbs?

Last week's Austin Chronicle (May 20th issue) covered the May 11th public meeting on the Shoal Creek curb island project. The article, entitled "Shoal Creek Boulevard Frankencurbs Draw Ire of Residents" by Daniel Mottola appeared in the paper's news section. Balanced representation of the meeting and the issues? You decide .

It has a list of city officials at the meeting, outlines the history of public involvement in the project, project approvals, general project information, etc.
